France Alumni in Kenya Launched

French Ambassador to Kenya HE Arnaud Suquet addresses staff from the University of Nairobi.

The French embassy held a cocktail to mark the official launching of the France Alumni in Kenya on April 6, 2024. The event brought together representatives from both public and private universities, the Association of France Alumni in Kenya (AFRAKEN), Kenyan companies and the French Chamber of Commerce. The highlight of the meeting were the speeches from the French Ambassador to Kenya H.E. Arnaud Suquet and Stéphane Séjourné the French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs.

AFRAKEN is an association of postgraduates who completed their studies in France residing and working in Kenya.  The mission of AFRAKEN is to strengthen ties between its alumni, both in Kenya and abroad, to maintain and broaden academic and personal contacts with scientists of French institutions and to expand knowledge of French culture among its alumni.

Membership advantages include Exclusive corporate networking, journal publication, and grants. Also present were staff from the Directorate of University Advancement led by Prof Marc Zolver, an Industry-Academia Expert from France.
