About Us

The Office of University Advancement has the challenging and rewarding responsibility of building relationships between the university and its community, including donors, alumni, parents, and other friends, as well as the task of seeking funding to support building projects, endowed chairs, and scholarships.

Welcome to UON Advancement Office, a Directorate established to fund raise, establish endowment funds and enhance the University of Nairobi brand. Advancement is a shared enterprise aligned with the vision, mission and key priorities of top leadership and integrated across institutional sectors, to maximise efficiency and benefits over a sustained period of time within a context of constrained resources yet boundless opportunities. This is achieved through leveraging internal relationships to maximise external support. This creates a process to deliver the vision and strategic institutional goals, foster a community of support, opportunities to diversify income and produce better outcomes for students, staff and researchers.


The University of Nairobi Management team led by Prof. Isaac Mbeche, Ag. Vice Chancellor and DVC Student Affairs and Prof. Julius Ogeng’o, Ag. DVC, AA officially welcomed 22 Faculty and students from Tsinghua University for the Global South Culture Immersion Program at the University of Nairobi on Monday 26th August, 2018. Other members of Management present at the welcome meeting were Prof. Madara Ogot, Ag. DVC, RPE, Prof.

UoN participates in the Experiencing China Summer School Program 2018

As part of the realization of the MoU between the University of Nairobi and Tsinghua University, UoN was well represented at the 2018 Experiencing China international Summer School at Tsinghua University, Beijing. For the second time since the programme was launched, UoN through the Advancement Office sponsored two students to attend.
