The University of Nairobi in partnership with other institutions has received funding from the Germany Government to conduct a 3-year project on solutions to food insecurity and malnutrition. On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, a team from Strengthening Urban REsilience in FOOD and nutrition security in Kenya paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama, and briefed him on the SURE Food project launch. Also present was the Director of University Advancement and Institutional Development, Mr. Brian Ouma. 

The University of Nairobi has been ranked Number 1 in Kenya, 11th in Africa and in the 501-600 category globally among the best universities by Times Higher Education (THE) in the just released World Universities Ranking 2022 report. This is a momentous improvement from last year’s ranking, in which UoN emerged 601-800.

 University of Nairobi (UoN) Vice-chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama and the UoN Alumni Association (UONAA) Chairman, Mr. Isaac Awuondo, officially signed a partnership agreement that will be mutually beneficial to the two institutions.
