UoN Chief Operations Officer, Mr Brian Ouma and Kisumu City Manager, Mr Abala Wanga after successful negotiations.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in Kisumu will be relocated to the University of Nairobi Kisumu Campus building. According to Abala Wanga, the Kisumu City Manager, the ODPP will be relocated to its new location from Omollo Agar Road where it is currently located.
The City Manager announced this after successful negotiations with University of Nairobi Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Brian Ouma who is also the Director of University Advancement, and the representative of the ODPP Maurice Odumba. He explained that the move was to help bring judicial services closer to the people as the University of Nairobi Kisumu Campus building is more centralized.
UoN Kisumu Campus building is located along Oginga Odinga Streets directly opposite Mega Plaza, its location is more centralised as opposed to Omolo Agar Road which is hidden in Milimani estate. The move will ensure accessibility to the office as many find it easier to be at the CBD as opposed to the previous location which only favoured a few individuals.
This move will bring in more financial resources to the University, which is one of the core mandate of the Directorate of University Advancement of resource mobilization.
