Another significant milestone in the Engineering Science Complex Project (ESC) was celebrated on August 25, 2025, with the flagging off of eight students selected to participate in a semester-long and post-graduate exchange programme in France across various partner institutions. This initiative provides the students with a valuable platform to expand their academic horizons, build international networks, and acquire global exposure that will sharpen their professional skills for competitiveness in the international job market.
The colorful occasion was graced by distinguished guests, among them the Directorate Foreign Expert, Prof. Marc Zolver, the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Prof. S. Mumira, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Prof. L. Kerubo represented by the Registrar, the Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr. John Orindi and representatives from key departments. The event was chaired by the Acting Director of Advancement and Institutional Development, Prof. George Abong, who underscored the University’s commitment to broadening opportunities for its students through meaningful global partnerships.
In their remarks, the leaders encouraged the students to embrace this rare opportunity with courage and diligence, to excel in their respective disciplines, and to serve as outstanding ambassadors of the University of Nairobi and Kenya at large. The Directorate reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening such exchange programmes and expanding linkages that enrich the student experience and institutional growth.
