Member universities of the AFRETEC Network during the Annual AFRETEC Conference 2023 at the University of Nairobi.
The University of Nairobi, through the Directorate of University Advancement & Institutional Development, hosted the the African Engineering and Technology Network (AFRETEC) annual conference from the 18th to the 20th of September 2023.
AFRETEC is a Pan-African collaboration of technology-focused universities from across the African continent. The creation of AFRETEC is a defining moment for the digital transformation of Africa.
AFRETEC Network aims to create a platform for technology-focused universities in Africa to drive inclusive digital growth by collaborating on education, knowledge creation, and entrepreneurship activities.
The University of Nairobi is a member of the AFRETEC Network. Other universities include; Carnegie Mellon University-Africa, University of Rwanda, The American University in Cairo, University of Lagos and University of the Witwatersrand. The inaugural conference was held at Carnegie Mellon University-Africa, Rwanda in 2022.
