University of Nairobi Hosts AFRETEC Makerthon 2026

The University of Nairobi, through the AFRETEC Pathways to Opportunities pillar, on Monday, 16th March 2026, opened the AFRETEC Makerthon 2026, marking the beginning of a five-day innovation sprint that brought together student innovators from leading African and global universities.

UoN Company Series Students Engage with KSA in Industry Learning Visit

 As part of the Engineering and Science Complex (ESC) Company Series Program, in collaboration with the African Engineering and Technology (Afretec) Project, 20 University of Nairobi students visited the Kenya Space Agency (KSA) on 3rd March 2026 for an eye-opening industry experience.

University of Nairobi Students Gain Industry Exposure at KenGen’s Olkaria Geothermal Power Plant

The University of Nairobi, through the Engineering and Science Complex (ESC) Company Series Program, successfully conducted an industry learning visit to the Olkaria I Additional Unit (AU) Geothermal Power Station, hosted by Kenya Electricity Generating Company (KenGen). The visit involved 40 Company Series students from the Faculties of Engineering and Science & Technology, accompanied by university staff, for an immersive industry experience.
