French Embassy to Continue Supporting the Engineering & Science Complex Project

Italian President Delivers Public Speech at the Iconic Taifa Hall

On Thursday, March 16, 2023, the University of Nairobi welcomed His Excellency President Sergio Mattarella, President of the Republic of Italy, for a public address on Climate Change at the historic Taifa Hall. The visit, his 6th trip to the African Continent was part of a four-day state visit between 13-16th March 2023.

UoN Launches Integrated Digital Health Platform

The launch of the University Health Services (UHS) integrated Digital Health platform supported by the Ministry of Health (MOH) marks a great milestone for the University in line with a long-term road map for digitizing its functions and processes. The launch event presided over by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama was preceded by an interactive demo outlining a step-by-step patient process journey.

ODPP Kisumu Branch to be Relocated to the University of Nairobi

The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) in Kisumu will be relocated to the University of Nairobi Kisumu Campus building. According to Abala Wanga, the Kisumu City Manager, the ODPP will be relocated to its new location from Omollo Agar Road where it is currently located.

All is Set for the Agricultural Technology and Innovation Centre Project Launch

The University of Nairobi’s Vice Chancellor, Prof Stephen Kiama and Elgon Kenya Ltd Managing Director, Dr Bimal Kantaria signed off the architectural drawings for the Agricultural Technology and Innovation Centre (ATIC). UoN and Elgon Kenya Limited entered into a collaborative partnership with the aim of establishing the ATIC in December 7, 2021. The centre’s sole purpose is to allow Kenyans and UoN students to experience innovation and the latest technology in agriculture.

UoN Hosts Business Mogul Bill Gates

Thursday 17th November 2022 marked history as UoN hosted Billionaire Business Mogul Bill gates. On his itinerary at the UoN, Gates was in an engagement with UoN experts at the Centre for Epidemiological Modelling Analysis (CEMA), a press briefing and a student engagement forum at the UoN Chandaria Auditorium.

As he interacted with students, Bill Gates announced that he will donate USD 7 Billion to Africa in the next 4 years through his Foundation.

The 67th Graduation Ceremony

The University of Nairobi over the years has upheld the culture of celebrating its academic achievers through graduation ceremonies, it was no different this year, on 23 September 2022, the University of Nairobi held its 67th graduation ceremony. The hybrid event a mix of virtual and an onsite ceremony for the PhD students was held at the Famous Taifa Hall, one of its kind in the nation.
