UoN to Partner with Nation Media Group in Powering SMEs

The University of Nairobi will partner with Nation Media Group (NMG) in powering Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs). The media partnership proposal was presented during a courtesy call to the Chief Operations Officer, Mr. Brian Ouma by NMG team lead by the Commercial General Manager, Mr. James Sogoti.

University of Nairobi Foundation Officially Launched

The University of Nairobi officially launched the University of Nairobi Foundation on Thursday, 30th June 2022 at 5:30PM at the Great Court. The Foundation is part of the reform agenda the University is implementing aimed at transforming the University into a vibrant, relevant and sustainable University. This Launch marks the first step of a journey of great transformation and impact for the University.

UoN Foundation Board of Trustees Hold their 1st Meeting

The University of Nairobi Foundation Board of Trustees held their first meeting on Thursday,12th May 2022 at the Fairview hotel. Trustees present were; Dr. (Mrs.) Vijoo Rattansi, the Chancellor, Prof Julia Ojiambo, former Council Chair, Prof Stephen Kiama, the VC, Dr. Narenda Raval (Guru) and Senior Counsel, Mr. Fredrick Ngatia.

Key issues were discussed including the foundation launch which was agreed to be held on 30th June 2022.

UoN Launches Smart Classroom-IIOE Kenya National Centre

The University of Nairobi, International Centre for Higher Education Innovation under the auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI), UNESCO Priority Africa and External Relations Sector, UNESCO regional office for Eastern Africa in Nairobi, the Kenya Ministry of Education, Science and Technology on Monday, April 25, 2022, launched the Smart Classroom (IIOE Kenya National Centre).

Rattansi Educational Trust Furnishes Lecture Rooms

UoN Chancellor, Dr. Vijoo Rattansi through the Rattansi Education Trust has donated to the University of Nairobi 200 folding tables and 400 chairs, and furnished 4 classrooms at the UoN Towers on the 4th and 10th floors. During the donation, the Chancellor encouraged the management to continue working together in unity and to uphold the values of the university.

First Cohort of UoN - Elgon Kenya Ltd Internship Programme Flagged Off

The partnership between the University of Nairobi and Elgon Kenya Ltd is already bearing fruit. Today, 6th April 2022, the first cohort of 20 interns from the Faculty of Agriculture was flagged off by the Vice Chancellor of the University of Nairobi, Prof. Kiama Gitahi, and the CEO of Elgon Kenya Ltd Dr. Bimal Kantaria together with the PS Treasury, Dr. Julius Muia. 

Advancement Bags Most Improved Directorate Award

It was a very jubilant occasion at UoN’s Taifa Hall on Wednesday morning, March 23, 2022, when the UoN Community gathered to recognize and award its outstanding staff and departments in terms of performance contracting, research and innovation, long service, staff performance, and special recognition.

Developments on the Engineering and Science Complex

There is good progress towards the implementation of the University of Nairobi Engineering and Science Complex (ESC). This was revealed by Mr. Bertrand Willocquet, the new AFD Kenya County Director when he paid a courtesy call on the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Stephen Kiama.

Egerton University Courtesy Call to the Alumni Affairs Office

Egerton University staff paid a courtesy call to the University on Tuesday February 8, 2022. The purpose of the visit was to benchmark with the University in matters concerning the newly created Alumni Affairs Office based at the Directorate of University Advancement. The University Inter-Faith Prayer Day 2022

The University of Nairobi set aside Thursday, 27th January 2022 to hold its annual inter-faith prayer day. The event served as a platform to commit the University Community and all planned activities for the year 2022 into God’s hands as well as give thanks to God for his grace and protection.
